happy childrens day

Happy children’s day to all the children and all the grown ups….

Usually every morning I get at least two text messages telling me “good morning” but today I did get a good morning message but I guess all of my friends forgot to send a message telling “happy children’s day”…..

If today were to be valentines day I would have got many messages wishing me “happy valentines day” even though I don’t have a valentine.. Well that’s secondary…

I sent a message to my friend saying “happy children day” and she said grow up. Well I was not expecting this kind of answer but I did reply back saying, “you have grown up but I don’t wish to grow up ever, I wanna be a kid again, and thank you for the reply”... this was my answer to her

When I was a kid I used to think its fun being older person, because I had seen my brothers, they lived with no restrictions, and I was younger to them by good 7yrs and my mum always used to keep a watch on me saying I was too young, and now she worries saying you are growing up and now that’s the point of concern…. I actually don’t understand this funda...

Well as a kid, we had no worries, we never thought about anything let it be good or bad, we did things impulsively and did regret at that point but if we think of it now we say did we really do this and burst out laughing, and memories are all we left with, let it be good or bad. Even bad memories turn good now….

As a kid we never had to worry about what and what not to wear and no worries about how to dress up, but now we literally take the whole day to dress up, reason being simple, dressing up for somebody now, I mean to impress the other person.

If we behaved badly we tell that’s ok they are kids but any rash behaviour now at home or outside is considered inappropriate and well of course not well appreciated, then at home we get a big lecture as to why and how we behaved, and a common dialogue “grow up, you are not a kid anymore”

I hear this very frequently from mum, but I don’t give ears to this.

As a kid what ever we do nothing matters, but now as a grown up, the scenario is very different. Lot of things are expected from us, and we sometimes live up to their expectations and sometime even if we try we can’t, that puts a lot of physical and mental stress on an individual. So now I mostly see people depressed and worried, I have many like them in my friends. They have actually forgotten to “smile”. They are so very caught up in their rat race that they hardly have time for anything.

Well it’s not their fault too… the world is too competitive not only for grown up even for kids. Grown ups have to catch up with struggle for existence while kids have to survive for expectations of parents. Now I hardly see kids playing in the park when I go out for walks with my neighbour, I guess all are busy preparing for their future.

At this point many children get into bad company and do very serious stuff like drugs and all. Kids are very fragile and we need to take care of them with lot of care and attention. If not then we are actually leading them to path of their destruction.

Expectations are something that ruin us I feel, but as being human we do expect thing and when we don’t get that well then it’s always easy to blame. Parents expect a lot from kids in studies and every thing but this is not right. This actually puts up a lot of mental strain on the kids and they will not share with their parents and they are caught up in their web internally.

My mother never expects anything from me, but I do expect a lot from myself and when I don’t get it I am very irrated and frustrated. And I always end up shouting and then I get a bad head ache and my mood is off… so even I have learnt “do not expect things, they ruin us”.

Now when I see my little cousins playing I become a kid with them, I love to spend time with them because kids are plain hearted they don’t know anything regarding hatred and jealousy. Even their smile is so genuine and that makes me so happy. They don’t expect anything from us apart from playing with them and loving them. Even their wish seems to be very sweet, unlike us where we have a long never ending wish list. It’s only with my cousins I get to be a kid again, other wise I have to act like a grown up which I hate the most.

Kids live for themselves, while grown up live for the society.

Once we are grown up they are other things to bother about and life take a turn not a “U” turn but. It goes in a zig zag manner. And then we get busy and too much involved in ourselves that we hardly have time and space for others. Then it’s all about “ME”.

Then later we have the pressure of getting married, job, family and then our kids. We then hardly have time to see our kids play and grow up.

Then one fine day goes through the store room we find the stuff we used when we were kids. Old school photos, friends snap, slam books, may be one or two letters. And that point we laugh and smile but it’s all gone now those friends and that bond we shared with friends. At this point we may not even know what our friends are doing. Now we do remember our childhood and that’s all we can do but we do have memories and they are very valuable. We may forget their faces but not the time we had as kids.

I wanna be a kid again and lead that care free I had, no worries and no tension. A free bird. But I guess that will not be possible because we are busy people now a day and in order to meet our demands we need money and for that we need to work. So its all work no play.

Well can just say one thing let kids be kids and let them live the way they want to. Because they will be kids now and this phase of life will never come back again. Let them not miss on any thing. Love them and pay attention to them when they need.
And once again happy children day to all……… and happy birthday chacha Nehru ji.
